I woke up this morning feeling like Santa himself had stuffed my heart with gratitude nuggets.

  • Roof over my head? Check.
  • Cozy cuddle zone for 14 family members? Yep, even with Tetris-level maneuvering!
  • Piles of presents that took two hours to unwrap? (Seriously, my family must be stockpiling gifts since last Christmas!)

It’s easy to get caught up in the glittery chaos of Christmas, especially when surrounded by mountains of wrapping paper and enough food to feed a small reindeer herd. But then I think about folks out there who spent yesterday without a single gift, a warm meal, or even a roof over their heads.

Reality check, right?

Sure, we scarfed down enough food to fuel a marathon, laughed over the funny old memories and created funny new memories, and listened to Christmas music all day. But the real joy came from having my whole crazy (in the best way)…
